FISHING REPORT – WEEK ENDING 31/12/17

Over the last couple of weeks 80 rods caught 323 fish for an average of 4.03.

The fishing was generally good through the last week of 2017 although rods numbers were reduced because of the cooler weather during the week. Both boat and bank anglers were scoring well with the far end of Cocks Close from the old boat jetty to the platforms along the high bank the best area.

The largest fish was a 12lb 8oz rainbow caught by Mark Goldney of Nuneaton who was fishing from the bank of Cocks Close and Mark took it on a Cats Whisker fished on an intermediate line. Rod Lacey of Nuneaton caught and released an estimated 10lb fish from a boat on Cocks Close and this fell to a black Buzzer fished on a floating line. Dave Bratby of Birmingham fished the bank of Cocks Close and caught and released ten fish to 5lb using small Damsels and black Nymphs fished on a floating line.

The Trout Fishery is open seven days a week from 8am until dusk.
