Last week 90 rods caught 188 fish for an average of 2 per rod. It was a lot tougher this week with the caenis making its first appearance of the summer resulting in lots of fish moving all over both pools but difficult to tempt. Small dries such as white Moth and Tups Indispensable have been picking off a few fish along with black or olive Buzzers, CDC Emergers and Damsel Nymph.

The largest fish of the week was a 6lb rainbow caught by Ray Inman of Birmingham who was fishing from a boat on Cocks Close and took it on a black Buzzer fished on a floating line, and also proved the downfall of another 11 fish.

JohnRiley of Atherstone had one at 4lb 12oz in a nine fish catch taken from a boat on Cocks Close and these all came to a mixture of Zonkers and Daddies.

Allan Bowen of Birmingham fished from a boat on Park Meadow and caught five fish to 3lb using small Diawl Bach and Buzzers on a floating line. Keith Harris of Birmingham found a few on Lures while fishing on Cocks Close taking eight fish to 3½lb on Cats Whiskers. The best areas on Cocks Close have been the old boat jetty corner, the high bank and the lodge corner. On Park Meadow, the deeper water around the middle of the pool has been the best area.
