What do you all think to pole alleys inside shops Personally I think they are a bad idea, do the shops have to pay for them poles that all and sundrie wave around with no intention of buying ? Or do manufacters provide them as samples ? I have always wondered, what are your thoughts does somebody somewhere end up buying a pole thats been wiggled about by 100 people ?~naughty

Does any pole alley have poles elasticated up because personally I wouldn’t buy one until I’ve tried it with the top kits elasticated. At last years ‘Big One’ show there was a pole alley and some of the abuse the punters gave them was proof to me just why so many poles end up shattered into a thousand pieces,

Personally I’d refuse to buy a pole from a pole alley, least not without checking it thoroughly first. On the flip side, if it’s survived a pole alley any manufacturing defects should have been exposed.

I have never seen a pole advertised or sold as ex demonstration

I’ve seen them, often in the “sale” parts of adverts, and normally without the original spares package. Not sure I’d buy one!

i’d say so long as they don’t get covertly sold to punters they have to be a good idea.
if your looking for the worst thing in the world i’d be more inclined to sway toward reality tv or x factor or jeremy kyle or politics or cheeky kids or bent coppers or cheap radios turned up loud etc etc etc ~think

Pole alleys are great for the likes of me, a customer as it allows you to set different poles up at different lengths and compare. The pole is one of the most expensive purchases and a purchase that is a nightmare if you get it wrong.

If you buy a rod are you happy to pick it up in its sleeve and make a decision from there. If you buy a reel do you refrain from turning the handle first, if you buy a seat box do avoid sitting sit on it first?

As long as my new pole is the model i want, at the right price, inspected visually by myself and found to be defect free, covered with the correct warranty and with at least the manufacturers listed spares etc i wouldnt care if it was ex display.
