makHi
I have a trilogy and use it for everything its spot on for everything very well balanced and solid I use it for bit bashing on our local canals at 16m all day long for fish at a 1oz each and its a dream but when it comes to carp etc I don’t think you will find a better stronger pole the finish is gr8 wet or dry
If you want to change from the standard top kits if you let them know when ordering tricast will do it for you
Also gr8 on extras at only £100 on a number 5 -

TF_budnuddParticipantBefore enless cliche’s are quoted on here I thought I’d save some time..
“Each to their own” “horses for courses” “pick one up and make your own choice”
Daiwa, sensas,Preston, Garbolino……
Done!

TF_squattNo-one has mentioned Browning’s Z9. It was all the rage some months back, wasn’t it.

TF_Fred Davisbrowning z9 gets my vote, I personally wouldn’t touch another tricast having owned a venom the pole came up so short it was unbeleivable and the spares were mega bucks once bitten as they say!

TF_baitchefParticipantI’d go for a daiwa myself, they hold their value well, spares are available for ever, prices are reasonable, they are UK based. There might be slightly stiffer poles but that’s only because daiwa always build in a margin of flexibility in theirs. That’s why they are so versatile and so many people use them with confidence. For example, just think how may tourneys have been sold over the years and how many thousands of pounds of fish have been landed on them.

thats a old pole £100 for a number 5 cheap as chips and nettop kits are one of the cheapest around for genuine ones

TF_GavinDon’t look at the price of additional extensions! Near 400 notes ~sick. Match tops are £20 a bung more than for Garbolino tops too. Both factors that ruled out Tri-cast when I bought a new pole over the summer.

makext is about £245
i paid &75 for my extra kits for the proper ones

TF_red_anglerHave a look at the Shimano fireblood if you can find one, had mine since May, love it, it can handle anything, 9 top kits and spares are cheap. Good finish, stiff, well balanced, responsive even at 17.5m.

TF_craigmI still really rate my Z9 against any pole out there, and considering its only £1700 when most other makes flagship poles are £2000 + it has to be good value.

pigslayerfor the money you cant touch the z9,does everything,av got up to 17h in the match kits and had the pole bent double.if daiwa made it they would charge 3k and it would be their flagship.

Totally agree with that mate, i have a No18 elastic set really tight for a peg i keep drawing thats 14.5m wide to an island made of reeds that the carp love to bolt through. I just hook them and start shipping back straight away and the Z9 has been bent in some horrible angles and it just keeps impressing me with just how strong it is.
