TF_njdudsburyBeen fishing the wag shallow for some years now and I cant find a catapult that lasts.
All the ones I have used seem to fall to bits with all the grief they get.
What is the best one for 8mms

TF_mike strutteri prefer the drennan team england and preston ones but find the the pouches and elastics break on whatever you use i think its just down the the frequency of use on this method, ive got 5 or 6 pults and buy plenty of spare elastics and pouches
cheers mike

TF_nick_the_2ndDrennan Feederpult, the black ones last far longer than any other I have used, get 5-6 matches or even more out of one before it breaks.
Any catty where the elastic comes out of the top and has a bend won’t last long. OK for the pole but no good if you are stretching the elastic to the extreme firing big heavy pellets.

TF_baitchefParticipantFederal pult as well, but I have a big problem with accuracy with it. Also the heavy match fatty but they don’t last long either. Off the shelf I don’t think ther is anything suitable and they need to be modded.

TF_nick_the_2ndforgot to add I stuck the blue Drennan mesh pouch on the feederpult and cut about 30mm off the elastic as it was slightly too long!

TF_mp.miloBeen using the Daiwa power catapults for the last 2 years, last for ages,i change the cup on mine to drennan black mesh which last as well. Easily get 7-8 matches out of one feeding a lot of pellet. They are hard to find i get mine of ebay.Never seen them in the shops.

TF_MICK THE BOOKIEYou crafty little tinker Marcus…..Next time you order some get me 30 mate……I will give you the money when i have won a few matches on the “Old Magic Wand”.
This question arises every season, and i have even spoken to Drennan about improving their Catty, but it all boils down to money in the long run.If the makers make them really effecient we wouldnt have to keep buying replacements,or new elastics……and they aint like bloody light bulbs, which seem to last forever.Thats why my mate Roger who owns a light bulb company cant afford a car,and has never had a holiday.I told him to be more like Drennan and become a millionaire overnight…lol.~shh ~shh ~shh ~shh ~think ~think ~think ~think .KEEP ON PINGING NOW.

Surely it’s not the catapult frame that’s the problem, it’s the elastic and pouches!? The frame looks similar to the Drennan so it the Daiwa elastic better? I like the black Drennan elastic for long range butcan be too powerfull and which pouch do you mean, feaderpult? I found they don’t fire as far as the blue 1s and maybe only last marginally longer. Are the Daiwa pouches good?

TF_mp.miloThe catapult frame is twice as thick as the Drennan Nathan. The elastic is a lot thicker than the black drennan elastic and feels more solid. The pouches i use are from the drennan feeder pult moulded mesh cattys, which Perry put me on to.
Mick, ive never seen 30 on ebay,i pick up the spare elastics on there as well.
