The Winter Season is getting into full swing at Ringstead Grange with many trout and pike anglers enjoying the lake, even in the cold and windy weather this week.

Pike fishing has not seen any large fish being caught but many anglers have been followed by different fish into the 30lb bracket. We send our congratulations to Nathan Partridge (Leicester), who landed a 4lbs 11oz perch in fine conditions. (Please see our Facebook for the photos)

    Best catches go to :
John Sharman (Higham Ferrers) caught 5 including a brace of 3 pounders.
Liam Johnson (Higham Ferrers) caught 5 fish, which were all lovely conditioned fish.
Nigel Cheetham (Oundle) caught 11 fish, all at 3lbs a piece.
Bob Symes (Geddington) caught 8 all at 3lbs.
Richard Russel and his boat partner Mr Eldridge from St Albans fishing club, enjoyed their day catching mostly 2 and a half lbs to 3lbs.
Reg Belham (Northampton) had an evening ticket and had his full limit.

    Best Areas :
Boats – Caravan Corner, Willow Bay, Addington Road, Lodge Front, Top Bank and Mill Corner
Bank – Caravan Corner, Willow Bay, Top Bank and Addington Road

    Best Flies :
Boats – Crunchers, Diawl Bach, Gold Bead Hares Ears, Pitsford Pea and Cats Whisker
Bank – Crunchers, Hares Ears, Damsels, Blobs and Pitsford Pea

The first of the new Jettys is now complete (my usual thanks to Pete and Glen from Rosemary. It is situated on the Addington Road and we are excited to see who will be the first angler to produce a decent fish as this part of the lake has not been fished for a few years, to the fact it has been overgrown.

Trout fishing is generally consistant except for the winds sending the fish down deeper, so intermediate lines are recommended at the moment. The current water temperature is 10 degrees and is clear throughout.

Photo attached is a lovely sunset over the lake, which was taken over the weekend.
