I’m after some advice on converting a preston pro roost to fit on D36 legs using one of Rives clip ring knuckles. Has anyone done it or is it at all feasible to do such a conversion,

Not sure if this helps, but I’ve drilled the D25/Preston/Garbolino knuckle off plenty of other attachments and re-riveted a D36 clip one knuckle back on, and never had a problem. Just make sure the D36 knuckle is either the square or round variant to suit the Preston roost. I can’t see no reason why it wouldn’t be feasible but don’t take my word for it.

ive had the same problem mate. i got a blank octagnal d36 bracket . then rivited a section of octoplus leg into it. leaving about about 4cm protruding out of the bracket. and finaly i put the blue octoplus insert in the pro roost. and conected it to bracket. i hope this makes sense to you. please let me know how you get on? you may find a sterdier way to do it.

I bought the preston pro roost tripod and one of the roost to fit on top, the shop sold then me as seperates. I then bought a rive roost that fits onto the D36 side tray of ebay.

              This one

I bought the roost from ebay first so really didn’t need the full kit from prestons, must say it works well with plenty of room for top kits and rods.
