A cold start meant it was going to be a silver fish match and that’s the way it turned out not a carp in sight. Drawn at peg 42 Dave fished the pole and caster for a mixed net of skimmers, roach and Ide – 8oz finishing with 18lb 2oz. in 2nd place and on the end peg 35 Jono also fish the pole with caster for 17lb of Ide – 1lb

Craig drew the end peg on the day peg 16 fishing with the pole corn and pellet he landed 4 carp – 6lb and the rest of his catch made up of skimmers and roach – 1lb. 2nd placed Brian also had 4 carp but of a smaller stamp and simmers – 1 ½ lb on the ground bait feeder cast to the far bank.

After struggling to catch early on Ian changed to the feeder and caught 3 carp before bites dried up and a switch to the pole resulted in some quality skimmers. John and Mick has a close peg to peg battle on 1 and 2 with John coming out on top to take second.

Steve battled the wind and rain with the long pole, fishing the pellet at 14m he had a good run of small carp – 2lb + 4 fish around the 6lb mark keeping very busy weighing in 65lb 11oz. In second place Alan thought he had done enough to win the match fishing the pole with caster and pellet he landed a mixed net of carp – 7lb and roach – 1lb for a total of 54lb 4oz.

Lee fished the pole and c/worm and caster out at 12m for a good net of roach and ide and finishing with a bonus 4lb carp to secure him the match with 22lb 4oz. 2nd place went to Dave Round fishing his usual pole and caster returning 19lb 10oz of roach and ide – 12oz.
