I’m using the Drennan wind beaters, The one’s with the Antenae float tip type.
I’m having a bit of a mare getting the shotting correct on them.
Depth wise it is about 6 to 7 foot and chucking out 30ft.
I want to get the bait down quickly, but find droppers really effect how long it takes the float to settle correctly.
        Any advise on this?

I had used them a lot in the past. If conditions are near perfect then lock the float with No4’s have a bulk at 2/3 depth and a single large dropper (minimum No4 but preferably No1 or BB) about 10-12″ away from hook as near to touching bottom as you can.

If there is a lot of wind and tow, replace the single last dropper with a ‘chain’ of No6’s dragging bottom.

          Casting is a lob.

Ok Mark, I will give that a go.
The place can suffer with tow at the best of times and when the wind hits it from the east, its even worse.
I will try with options you make referance to.
Will these shotting arrays get the float top straight down, or did you find it took time to settle? The onion style base body combined with the large bouyant antennea seems to have a big impact when your trying to sink it down quick?

I have spent the last two fishing this style. I use the Dino Masters and Records which are similar to your floats. I always shot these floats in a large barrel, attach them via a cralusso adaptor and store them attached to my rod on a winder. For the depth you’re talking about I adjust the floats loading so that I can have at least 3no.4 plus say three 8’s as a bulk. Below this I have 2no.8 and a micro swivel. If conditions change I have say 5 no.8 that I can mess around with. I’m normally after skimeers or Bream and on these sort of floats the 2no.8 that are picked up show on the float very quickly ie massive lift or a sail away.
