I’m thinking of having a go at this tomorrow as well as the straight lead and pinging pellet with a catty and I’m even considering the method (leaving it out if needed). Anyway, I am a bit unsure if the tea bag is a starting method or if its something you switch to if the fish are having a feed?
I am not sure what weight we are looking at, but I am definitely targeting carp and hopefully some lumps up to 4-5lb.
        What do you think?

hi chris to be honest in my opinion it only works on some of the pegs at milemead. i would start with 4mm pellets but use bags about a ten pence size and 6 or 8mm baned or lassooooed

Cheers Paul, I’m restricted to be honest as I am still Pole-less so its running line for me regardless. Just have to be lucky at the draw.
I have bagged a load up tonight so its all or nothing for me tomorrow. Its another option i suppose just in case. You fishing Milemead tomorrow?

no im still doing the whiteacres winter league, as soon as its finished i be there to watch you. if i was you i would just chuck out the straight lead with either corn or pellet and have a look around for the first half hour before you attemp to try the tea bag. in fact if the wind isnt to bad i go for the wag set between 2 and 3 foot deep and just keep on casting about. dont leave it out too long. if your lucky enough to draw 21 chuck to the left hand side of the islands point you be surprised.
i cant wait to get down there as i have a couplem of tricks up my sleeves to try, i reckon both the 5olb of silvers and 150lb will both go this year.
all the best tomorrow have a good one

Hi Paul, remember i said all or nothing, well it was nothing, ha ha. I stuck to my guns but only had 2 big carp, 4 big skimmer, 4 small skimmers, a cruician and a tench from peg 29 for about 10-12lb. All the fish came in the first hour and I only had 1 bite after that, from a blade skimmer. The lake fished really well, Timmy won from peg 3 mainly fishing short with 40 odd pounds, Mat had 16 carp from down the edge on 16, but they were all small fish.
Never mind, I fished the method a bit, which was too positive but fished it too negatively really if that makes sense? I didnt feed a thing over the straight lead and t bag because i thought it was going to be rock hard, i think if i had pinged the odd pellet over i might have snared a few more. Also with no pole line to turn to for some back up I was out of it from the off really.
