TF_Leaky Lloydreyt fella’s,
after trying this yesterday on the same pond http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KKN-pWuq6Bw
i completely smashed all me topkits on an old maver jurrasic 2000 i use for munter hunting ( pole only cost me 40 quid so not too arsed)
i ended up elasticating a spare landing net handle in the end,
so basically im wanting to know which is strongest margin pole out there,
must be able to handle 25+ solids ?  -

TF_medway poacherTricast, it costs a few quid but is rated for elastics of 25+, never had a problem with mine it’s a class pole.

TF_inky fingerStrength ? has to be a tri cast pole. Anything with xrs on it is spot on. I use the original purple one and the lads at tricast where putting power gum through the power tip only to get beasts out from reeds. Avoid anything that says ‘super stiff and strong yet light’ it has to bend and have good wall strength to make unshipping easier. or go down the cheap carp rod pole float paste combo.
Just a reminder to anyone that the carp are thinking/or are spawning and will be in the edge chasing each other around leading to lots of liners and foul hookers which are difficult to control. If they are chasing each other about and crashing about in the edge leave them alone as there only interested in one thing…. and it’s not eating. You will also affecting the future of your fishery stocks. -

TF_wightangleri’d love an original xkrs – but up to now have been content with my 1995 vintage Dave Harrell era MAP concept match which was built on the garbo power maxim mandrel.
It takes half lengths of brown hydro and does the dragging from reeds up to a point.
But at dreaded Gunville the carp from around 8/9lb to an equal amount of 20lb plus fish ‘live’ on a shelf under old trees and bushes that go out about 3m.
Managed to acquire an old ‘sunridge’ vintage fibre class 7m.
bushing thecut back no. 3( the no 1 was a solid flick tip in those days) with a 6mm bush for double 14lb powergum – you only need 2 or 3 of the smaller or 1 of the older of these fish to win.
Before i’ve fished past the shelf and dragged bait up a foot (it drops sunndenly to about 14-15′.
With this kit – plan was to fish o.25 powerline, on 8′ deep shelf next to branches and roots…. this season they made it ‘silvers’ only’ – so still waiting to try my ‘new’ margin contraption. -

TF_baitchefParticipantI recently got the shimano beastmaster 850B and I run the strongest garbolino bazzokercarp elastic through one of the power kits. The pole doesn’t even flinch.
