Saturday Silvers only match – M1 –
10 fished and there were loads of tiny roach to be had for most anglers. Some skimmers also showed on the tip and there was one solitary carp that didn’t count. There was a total dirth of fish from peg 26 towards the shallows and although they caught it was ounces and they didn’t weigh in.
Top 7 were as follows with 3 DNW’s
1st Mick Birch, Nisa Waveney, fishing peg 30 had mostly skimmers on the tip and weighed 6lb 4oz
2nd Aaron Coleman, SWP/Bait-Tech, Peg 28 weighed in 6lb 2oz
3rd Keith Gooderham, Browning Wickford, Peg 31 had all small roach on the pole for 5lb 12oz
4th Richard Watson, Nisa Waveney, Peg 32 had most of his weight on the tip for 5lb 8oz
5th Tim Debruer, Peg 33 all small roach on the pole 4lb8oz
6th Keith Gostling, Nisa Waveney, peg 29 weighed 4lb 2oz
7th Bill Walker, 2lb 12oz
Sunday Open – M1 – Carp count
There were 3 no shows so only 12 fished but all bar one weighed in. The carp were really tightly schooled in pegs 5 and 6 with just the odd one showing over the pegs. All the tiny roach where you couldn’t get a maggot to the bottom in the late 20’s and early 30’s had disappeared overnight as well so it was a struggle for some in those pegs.
1st Richard Watson, Nisa Waveney, I started fishing for skimmers on the tip on peg 5 and had 12lb 2oz of them in an hour and a half before peg 6 had 3 carp in 3 casts on the method feeder. A change was called for so out came the method rod, pellet around the feeder and bread or maggot on the hook. First cast a carp was landed. They came in fits and starts from then on and every time the wind died the fish switched off. The carp weighed 34lb 6oz to give a total of 46lb 8oz
2nd Pat Denny, Woodbridge AC, peg 6 started on a straight lead and had a few indications but a switch to the pellet method with bread saw 3 carp in the first 3 casts. Pat weighed an all carp catch of 44lb 12oz.
3rd Dennis Wiggett from Ipswich on peg 27 had 2 carp and a couple of skimmers on peg 28 for a weight of 11lb 4oz
4th Richard Fuller, Viscount Tackle, peg 37 had a carp and skimmers for 10lb 3oz
5th Nathan Gooderham, Woodbridge AC, on peg 4 had 3 carp and 2 skimmers for 7lb 13oz
6th Aaron Coleman, SWP/Bait-Tech, Peg 36 had a carp and small roach for 7lb 3oz
7th Mark Wiggett from Ipswich on peg 28 had a carp and skimmers for 5lb 10oz
8th == Colin Engstrom from Ipswich peg 29 and Barry Boulton from Harleston, Norfolk, peg 31 with 3lb 8oz
