I Have recieved two e mails in the last couple of days from 2 separate companys sugesting that my subscription to there service is about to run out, and offering me a deal to continue .
THe problem is i am not and never have subscribed to one , and subscribed briefly to the other at least five years ago.
These are media based services with MATCH FISHING themes.
Has any one else recieved these e mails that are obviously a blatant attempt to drum up trade.
One of the culprits even had the cheek to send a follow up e mail saying sorry we pushed the wrong button yer right.

yes, same as mate, ive never had a subscription eithier, i suspect there as a result of me filling in that match fishing survey thing that was about a week or so

                    punchcrumb,

same thing happened to me but three dabs on the “delete” button soon resolved the problem.

None of these magazines are value for money nowadays, same old things revived regularly, last season it was all carp, this season it is all about barbel.

Poor editing in my opinion and a seeming lack of good writers when I know that there are plenty of knowledgeable anglers available.

I used to buy all the coarse angling weekly and monthly magazines but am now only buying “Angling Times”and “Improve Your Coarse Fishing.”

With the economic climate as it is and not looking too good for the immediate future these magazines are going to have to improve if they are to keep, thier readership/buyers happy enough to pay the ever-rising prices.

I to have recieved e-mails and it does seem strange that we all got them telling us that we only had 3 issues left however the 3rd e-mail put that right. I was concerned that I only got them after replying to the request for information to make the magazine better.

I must disagree with Metiorite though. I think both Match Fishing and, to some extent, Pole Fishing are getting better all the time.
