Using a mono shockleader with braid mainline targeting big bream.
Hooklength anything from 48 inches to 12 inches, so would ideally like to have the flexibility of changing hooklengths.
        Any ideas?

This set up is a bit old in my mind now,but i am sure this is how Kev Leach explained it in a magazine some time ago. .Use 8lb technium mono,1st on the line a gripper stop(it may have been 2?)then a tiny swivel, then another gripper stop(or 2)now tie on a clip link swivel for the feeder. The hooklength is looped through the tiny swivel.Hope this makes sense,as you can move the hooklength swivel (which is trapped between the gripper stop(s))away from the feeder.

Is that like a helicopter rig?

Maybe some class it as a helicopter rig?.You can always stop the swivel spinning by locking the gripper stops tight to the small swivel.

if your not expecting bites on the drop you can also tuck your hookbait into the feeder to stop any tackles on a long chuck as long as your using an open ended feeder

                  Thanks for the replies.
Went out today managed about 60 yards with a comfortable chuck. Had a brilliant day with me mate Tony. We had 10 PROPER dustbin lids and about 30lb of skimmers and roach between us. Lovely, bites all day on various baits etc. Biggest bream wash pushing 5lb and there is something magic about them.
Braid mainline excellent, rig was just a standard free running with a bead and swivel, shall remember the tuck in tip for next time.
Ill try and put a photo up when i work out how to get them off my phone.

Here is the photo of our catch, the quality isnt great but you can just about make out some of the bream.

nice bag of fish, the tucking in i mentioned i last used on a bream venue depth was about 13ft the problem was small roach and perch hitting the bait mid depth.i started tucking the bait in and no more bits on the drop and 7 bream all around the 8lb mark.

Ive had the same problem with roach and that. The tip rattles just as the feeder hits bottom.
They are decent roach most of the time but a bit of a pain when you are after the bream. Ill definitely try tucking the hookbait in next time.
