Hi Fred; we had a match there three weeks ago. Fished pretty well but no sign of any bream.

I won it from three below the Thame mouth with 11-15 of roach, initially on caster but mostly on tares. (Not real tare size fish, mostly5/6 to the pound but any smaller bait got bleaked most of the time))
Balled it with 10 big ones at 11-12m , VDE Black Roach with caster and frozen pinkie added but think that this might have been too active a mix on the day as pulled the bleak in which were a real ‘mare for everyone. Fed hemp/ caster and a few tares over the top; could get odd roach at half depth on tare but not consistently and had to keep going deeper again.
Chub might start to show around now (no proper ones in our match) but wouldn’t rely on them.
Plenty of fish on pole and/or topper from the swims in the trees behind the houses where our next three weights came from- mostly on caster ( I was the only one to get the seed to go)
Some nice perch as well if you have the odd look very close on the inside if depth allows.

Best of luck; lovely venue, until late OCtober anyway….

Hi Fred- we only had 14 or 15. I was actually upstream end peg on the day as a couple of moored boats above me and on a hot August day the Thame Mouth peg itself tends to have too many distractions- picnickers, swimming dogs, the works, so not used. (can still be a very good one though)The couple of pegs below me where the river is still comparatively narrow fished pretty well but a bit harder from where it widens down to the top of the trees just up from the houses. Some of this bit was quite overgrown as well and we only had I think 3 or 4 pegs in it. Was very consistent behind the houses except for the last peg by the broken fence ( at the bottom of the path as you go in) which struggled.
Not sure what your downstream boundary is- we only went as far as that peg I just mentioned but I think we were allowed to go a few swims further down to the “beach” although not sure.
