        O K lads what about this for a proposal? We all are aware that scrap metal is a popular target for theives and the odd jack the lad Why dont the scrap merchants pay by cheque and stop the 20% vat on the payouts? It will than be deducted from any benefits the theeving so and so,s It will P_ss on a few bonfires I bet

          I think some of the scrap dealers are bigger crocks than the people selling the scrap.

            Chop the thieving scums hands off that will solve the problem , they are getting pence for scrap nowadays but causing mayhem with thefts.

                far from getting pence m8!!!
                prices are at an all time high for all metal at the moment…
                copper by far the most (china wants as much as it can get its hands on!)
                lead also at an all time high!!
                even light steel is worth a lot of money now…
                if i was to scrap my old transit van today i would probebly get around £400 for it in scrap value alone, i would struggle to get that for it on flea bay or selling it to the breakers!!

                you are supposed to have a waste licence to carry scrap etc on the roads, but i must see at least 5 or 6 of em every day, i have a plumber mate who was fixing a leak on a radiator valve the other day, he removed rad and put it outside to drain it off, went for it 2 mins later and it was gone lol!!
