Cold weather arrived earlier this year. We had this for most of January last year. I daresay it could be the same this year too.

Ten day forcaste shows daytime temps back to 0 from 1st January across most of the country ! night time anything from -2 to -8 oh well it could be worse !

Met Office were originally saying it was going to clear just in to the New Year, with normal temps. That was until yesterday when it changed to staying for the foreseeable future, with the exception of the far South West.

Trouble is with 8 inches of ice on some lakes it’s not going to thaw overnight what ever the thermometer goes up to ! Think February looks good

I am gonna struggle after the new year to fish the rest of the re-arranged Heronbrook winter league due to fishing the horns dam series which starts at the end of Jan,i have already paid for it upfront… £50 for all the peg fee`s, thats if there`s any fish left to fish for, everywere`s had a lid on for the last 4 weeks,i read about a lot of fish kills last year so god knows what its going to be like when all the ice melts this year!!!

No mate,were having a small knock up on the trent wednesday,bottom of the road stretch(bream pegs),i had a quick look this morning in my van,no cormorants alway down roadstretch until the bay,so must be some fish there~think,mind you even alligators would think twice before eating one of them slabs,plenty in double figs lol,just hope they feed ~clap.

I heard,dont know how true it is~think,that that type of weed goes in 4yr cycles,it then apparently dies off???.

Lets hope so,Edgy has also suffered ,tried a match on it two months back, only had two roach off a bream flyer(bush peg park side of the creek).Kept coming back with a dead stringy weed over the feeder.One bream won it, many blanks including the bomb hole.

LOL Crafty,i just need to have a days fishing,chuck 5 feeders out,hands in pockets,then chuck out every 15mins,double magg,game on,what trent bream could resist……….
