        hi all , thinking of buying a drennan series 7 for pellet wag(like the idea of everything ready to use)so what would be the best choice, in your opinion, for long distance work? also, any guidelines on mainline and hooklength,maybe the occasional double at best and few snags

            You want to fish the pellet wag or at distance? Can’t fish the pellet wag past where you can feed pellets and that’s not long distance! For pellet wag I much prefer the Shakespeare Mach 3 rods, 3 or 4lb Maxima mainline and 0.18 or 0.20mm Middy Low Viz hooklength.

                I have the series 7 11ft carp waggler, I use Shimano Silk Shock .18 as a main line.

                As Nathan has said you dont need a long rod for distance due to feeding.
