I need to downsize from my Boss Modulator, (same as a daiwa tournament) to something more compact, with telescopic legs and footplate. I’m sick of carting this oil rig about, what do you use or recommend?

I was thinking this the otherday . I own a spacestation and it’s huge and heavy so I was wondering if you can get a smaller box but with all the features , but on the op I can’t suggest any sorry.

My rive is very heavy, i’ve just made my own trolley so no humping it around now.

As for lighter boxes take a look at the rive c30’s, no weight to them.

I had this problem and in the end I got a Matchbox S-Class and an older Pyramid in the end. The box is well built, small, light and compact, easy to carry and has about the right amount of space for what I need. I don’t have the base unit on it often as I carry all my rods made up and feeders, floats and cattys in my carryall and it can be made even lighter by not taking the footplate. Thats what I am using now and I have had a Rive ST, Preston Spacestation, Maver MX3000, Milo 1000 and Brilo Scotthorne boxes over the past few years and struggled with the size of them.

I’ve just gone from a Space Station to a Tourney Pro box and I’m well impressed. Much easier to transport in the car and wheel kit is spot on. The Boss Modulator is same box, I’d stick with it mate, its not that big really when you consider the other options, like rive and Space Stations mate and I think if you changed you would regret it in the long run.

I ve gone other way had original spacestation sold and bought a tornie box.but couldn’t get away with folding footpath and front draws do bought a ss xs11. Lot more comfy too..both voxson weigh the same empty if anything the tourney slightly heavier.
