TF_NathanWatsonI’d go for Jamie Wilde, Dean Smith, Steve Ringer, Alan Scothorne and not sure about the last 1!? Would depend a lot whether it was fishing for carp, bream, skimmers, roach, lake, river surely though!?

TF_NathanWatsonYou’ve tempted me to include Rob Wooton Joff! And even Roly too! Maybe Dave Harrell and others if it was on a river for barbel! The list is endless but the main 2 would be Jamie and Dean, whatever the venue or method!

TF_joffmiesterwell its up to Tommy, its not going to be easy ~sick ~sick if the venue is a river fast flowing some of the Severn Trent or Wye lads could have a good shout chucking a feeder out is easy but with loads of lead specially if your not used to it is a different ball game
-
27/01/2011 at 4:42 pm #129925
TF_AlibongoParticipantwhich ever way tommy goes you know it will be a quality team whatever the venue!
-
27/01/2011 at 4:42 pm #129926
TF_dave smiffSeeing as the venue is a large-ish river in Italy i think that puts a different look to the team! Alex Bones??? – has he seen a river before?
I reckon something along the lines of:Denis White
Tommy Pickering (would he pick himself?)
Matt Maginnis
Dave Harrell
Nick Larkin
Darren CoxYou cannot look no further than the anglers that fish the big rivers regularly (Trent, Severn, Wye, Ouse etc), even if they’re not household names?
-
27/01/2011 at 5:01 pm #129930
Anonymousanybody can lob a feeder full of groundbait out, light a fag up,pour a cup of tea, cross your legs then wait for a fish to hook itself and wind it in.lol.(well thats how i do it anyway).

27/01/2011 at 8:46 pm #129982
TF_ropaCan`t see him straying to far away from the present England team and it`s fringe lads. They are the best at anything they do. Ineresting that a lot of names have been put forward that although good tip anglers, havn`t got the experience on running water that will be needed to represent there country. Throw a few older lads into the mix as well, Dennis White,Keith Hobson to name but 2. I would also look at Jimmy Hines, Gary Whalley and Derick Willan, 3 brilliant feeder anglers with experience on stillwaters and rivers.

TF_rocketFeederKevin Ashurst, Baz Smith ~think Theres loads of good feeder lads out there to choose from, will be interesting to see who gets selected. I really hope it takes off and becomes a permanent fixture, it’s certainly made me want to travel and watch the best.
-
28/01/2011 at 7:32 am #130022
TF_FEEDERMAN_222surely it depends on the venue and species.
If it’s mega long chuck then you need lads that can do this well.
Feeding accurately at distance with a catapult may come into it, I’m sure it won’t be nice neat method feeder work cast to a clip.
It’ll probably be fish we are not used to catching on the feeder, so anglers that can sort stuff pretty quick and can be flexible would be better. No one in the current England team would be included for obvious reasons.
I’d want at least:
Steve Ringer
Alex Bones -
28/01/2011 at 10:19 am #130031
TF_toplightsAny Six Diawa Dorking members.they realy know how to fish as a team, and have a proven track record. ~clap ~clap If that dosen’t stir you up nothing will.
-
28/01/2011 at 10:28 am #130033
TF_Nigel.Tmmy would be first choice, but i dont think he will be fishing if he’s team manager.
Darren Cox
Steve Ringer
Phil Ringer
Matt Hall
Andy Finlay -
28/01/2011 at 10:58 am #130036
TF_Waveney OneI think it depends entirely upon the venue and the target species. Nick Larkin would be great at any river venue for whatever species but on lakes, if it were in the ROI with roach, bream and hybrids then I would have him in. If it were anywhere where carp were the target then I wouldn’t pick him. I suspect that there are a few that fall into that category.
Alex Bones would replace Nick in my team for out and out carp venues.
Steve & Phil Ringer would be in my team no matter what the venue.
Not too sure about the others, yes, loads of people can fish the feeder, even me, but fishing it really well is something entirely different.

Mark Culleton.Dear captain,as honoured as i am to be selected for this England squad to take on the world, after careful consideration i have decided to stand down after my lengthy term, therefore opening the door for another young hopeful.
I thank you for your leadership and guidance over our time as a squad,i will of course still be on hand to help out any new recruit with less feeder fishing knowledge than myself,i know i will be hard to replace, but i am sure you are the man to find the next star.
Yours regrettfully,

deanbParticipanttheres a lot more to fishing any world champs than meets the eye, the rules are strict and complicated.
as for venues, if you go the eastern european country’s the rivers are nothing like the rivers we have in our country, very very fast and very deep, so different kinds of feeder fishing would come into it, but im sure the england team would sort it out!
