FISHING REPORT – WEEK ENDING 6/11/11

Last week 129 rods caught 349 fish for an average of 2.70 per rod.

Cocks Close is fishing well with both boat and bank anglers enjoying success.  The fish are more spread out but the hotspots are still the high bank and the lodge end of the pool.  On the members’ waters, Great Pool has been really good with the jetty side of the pool fishing best.  On Park Meadow, the deeper water in the middle of the pool is the best area.

Best tactics have been black or white Lures fished on an intermediate line.  Other patterns that are catching well are Bloodworm, Gold Head Damsel, black Buzzer, Montana Nymph and Diawl Bach.

The best fish of the week was an 8lb 8oz rainbow caught by Richard Huckvale of Coventry who was fishing the bank of Cocks Close and he took it on a Cats Whisker Lure fished on an intermediate line.  Kevin Brookes of Tamworth had fish of 7lb and 4lb in a nine fish catch from a boat on Cocks Close and these all fell to a Damsel Nymph fished on a floating line.

Michael Lloyd of Coventry fished from a boat on Great Pool and caught a 5lb rainbow amongst a nine fish haul and all of these came to a black Buzzer fished on a floating line.  Colin England of Kenilworth took a five fish catch from Park Meadow on small Diawl Bachs.
