FISHING REPORT
MOLANDS The largest carp for a number of years, a common of 29-12 was landed by Scott Hunter from peg 16 and this was best of a number of 20lb + fish that came out last week . The top tactic for the bigger fish is a boilie fished over a PVA bag. In the matches nets to over 120lb were recorded and good back up catches with pegs 1-10 and 40-60 the better areas. A lot of fish in the upper layers and waggler with pellet has caught a lot of fish but pole/meat and bomb with pellet have also been working well
GEARYS The Warmer weather this week saw the shallower water at the top end from 18 round to 30 the best area but carp were being caught from all around the pool and match weights to 100lb+ were had. In the matches bomb with pellet /wafter ,method feeder to the middle stumps and pole with 6mm banded hard pellet have been the better approach.. Still some nice nets of skimmers coming from all around the pool with maggot pinkies or caster over groundbait working best for nets to over 40lb
LITTLE GEARYS A lot better this week particularly at the far end with decent carp and f1s showing and with the water warming ,shallow tactics are starting to work with iigga and pellet/maggot. Pole fished meat fished short or down the margins and bomb with 6mm pellet or wafter has also been catching.
SIBLINGS A . Still the most consistent area has been from pegs 17 – 21 with carp and f1s showing in nets to 50lb. Banded hard 4mm or expander pellet fished tight up to the island has worked best but dobbing bread or corn has still been catching and picking out some nice carp into double figures.
SIBLINGS B Fished a little better this week with nets to 40lb + with carp and f1s showing on most pegs with pole pellet/maggot fished down the middle or corn/dead maggot fished over micros across to the far bank working best.
ANNIES Has been producing nets to around 50lb and f1s and small carp are showing to pole with expander pellet on the pole or bomb with 6mm banded pellet and the pegs at the top end of the pool from 1-10 and 20-23 are still in the best form.
WILLOW Was a lot better with nets to around 60lb last week and decent sport could be had on most pegs with carp to 16lb+ and f1s to 6lb providing the main action. Waggler, bomb or a method feeder to the island or long pole with corn ,banded pellet or maggot have been the best tactics.
