A very mixed week with heavy rain and storms coming through . MOLANDS has seen the colour completely drop out and the gin clear water has made the fishing even tougher than it was already. However carp to 24lb were caught with visual tactics like bomb and bread/wafter or zig rigs working best. In the matches nets to over 40lb were coming to bomb and bread or wafters.. . GEARYS is still the most consistent match pool with carp best along the high bank with a small method/banjo feeder or bomb with pellet accounting for nets to 60lb, silvers nets improved a little with catches to over 25lb of mainly skimmers but a few quality roach and perch coming to maggot or pinkies over ground bait. LITTLE GEARYS was a bit better this week with nets to around 55lb best but plenty of bites to be had if you fished for silvers with skimmers showing on most pegs. Both the SIBLINGS pools fished tough this week with dobbing bread the most effective tactic fished across to the island or far bank. ANNIES is producing nets to 30lb and f1s and small carp are coming to pole fished maggot or expander pellet with the pegs at the top end of the pool from 1-10 and 20-23 in the best form.
The first of the winter restocking plan took place a couple of weeks ago with Molands and Gearys getting a number of quality carp between 10 – 22lb. All of the pools will receive further fish throughout the winter.
