FISHERY REPORT

MOLANDS It has been tough on Molands this week with the F1s switching off and generally the carp have made up the better catches with nets to 100lb. The carp are coming to bomb with pellet or boilies fished tight across to the island or method feeder with wafter. The F1s are being caught with fish to 8lb but not in great numbers and pole fished pellet or corn on the deck has been best. The most consistent pegs have been 15 to 29 and then later on pegs from 56 – 60.

GEARYS Fishing hard at the start of the week but got better over the weekend with the best net being a 215lb haul from peg 20 made up of carp to double figures coming to dead reds over ground bait across to the island. There have been plenty of 100lb+ nets at the weekend with bomb and pellet, method feeder or pole with pellet or dead maggot.

LITTLE GEARYS Like all of the F1 pools it has been a touch tougher on Little Gearys this week with nets to around 80lb best. Fishing down the margins with corn, meat and paste have been the best tactics but method feeder to the island and pellet waggler have also accounted for a few fish. The pegs on the far side from 7 – 13 have been the most successful.

GRATUITIES Fished well this week with lots of smaller carp in the 1 – 4lb range along with a few bigger samples being caught. There have been plenty of other fish showing too with crucians, skimmers and a few tench. The carp are coming to feeder fished to the island or on the pole close in with meat or paste and the silver fish are being caught on caster or expander pellet.

ANNIVERSARIES The best pegs have been 2, 6, 10 and 15 – 23 with lots of F1s showing on these areas. Paste, corn and pellet have been the top baits for the better stamp of fish but if you fish maggot or caster it can be a fish a chuck with the silver fish coming to these methods.

WILLOW Always very popular and the fishing has been good this week with carp and F1s showing on all pegs. Carp to over 18lb have featured and they are coming to paste, corn or meat down the margins. The F1s are being caught on shallow tactics with waggler or pole both working and caster or pellet on the hook.

SIBLINGS A It has been a little more consistent on the ‘doughnut’ with plenty of carp to double figures and the F1s showing from all areas. Pole fished pellet or corn, either across to the island or down the margins has been the best tactic.

SIBLINGS B Very consistent with lots of F1s from 1 – 4lb being caught and this week a number of carp up to 10lb have showed. Short pole with maggot or pellet has been best for the F1s with carp being caught on ‘mugging’ tactics with a 6mm pellet on the hook.
