RESULTS FOR OPEN CONTESTS WEEK ENDING 20th FEBRUARY 2011

There have been some good weights this week with 100lb+ caught by both pleasure and match anglers.  Red maggot, pellet and corn have been the best baits.  Some fish were up in the water mid week.  Straight lead to the islands for big common and mirror carp.

Top Pool
Corn at 8m on all pegs for f1 carp, bream, roach and barbel.  Straight lead feeder to the island with dead maggot in the bowl area for commons and mirrors to 14lb.  Pegs 1-14 and 19-33 have been the best pegs this week.

Bottom Pool
Pellet at 6-8m for carp, bream, tench and roach.  Red maggot for perch and chub.  Corn in the margins on some pegs for big mirrors.  Pegs 1-12 and 18-31 have been the best.
 
House Pool
Maggot at 8-10m up/down in the water for carp, bream, tench, roach, chub, perch and barbel.  Dead maggot for common carp with straight lead to the island.  Pegs 4-12 and 16-34 have been the best this week.
 
Extension pool
Some carp in the margins on warmer days.  Lots of silverfish on maggot up/down in the water to maggot.  Pegs 1-13 and 19-39 have been the best this week.
 
New Pool
The roadside pegs with maggot for chub, bream and roach. Better size fish can be found against the island.  All pegs are fishing well. 

Canal Pool
Maggot at 6-10m has been the best bait for f1 & f2 carp, bream, tench, roach, barbel and golden rudd.  Pegs 1-5, 7-13 and 15-24 have all been producing big weights of fish.  On warmer days corn close in had been catching well.

Club Pool
Lots of barbel and bream in the margins to maggot.  Pellet at 10-14m for f1 & f2 carp, roach and tench.  All pegs have been fishing well.

Jenny’s Pool
Lots of carp at 10m to pellet. Some fish in the margins and waggler to the island with red maggot has been catching well.  Pegs 1-14 and 18 onwards have been the best pegs.

RESULTS FOR OPEN CONTESTS WEEK ENDING 13th FEBRUARY 2011

With the warmer weather all pools have fished well with over 100lb caught by pleasure and match anglers this week.  Pellet or maggot have been the best baits with corn in the margins on the deeper pegs.

Top Pool
The bowl area has been producing some fair sized carp with all pegs full of roach, perch, bream, f1 carp and maggot. Maggot and pellet have been the best baits.

Bottom Pool
Five 20lb+ carp have been caught late on in the day this week on corn in the margins.  Pellet for f1 carpand bream with maggot for chub, roach and perch.  A 3lb 4oz perch was caught in Mondays match.
 
House Pool
8m line with maggot for f1 carp, bream, tench, perch and chub.  Waggler on straight lead to the island for bigger common carp on either corn or worm.
 
Extension pool
Maggot or pellet for all fish at 7-10m.  Pole method feeder to the island has caught this week.

New Pool
Pellet has been the best bait with slop on the bottom for f1 carp, bream and roach.  Maggot for chub, barbel, perch and tench.  The margins have started to produce fish this week.
 
Canal Pool
Maggot and corn have both been catching lots of fish, corn in the margins and maggot at 9m. F1 & f2 carp, roach, perch, bream, and tench on all pegs.

Club Pool
Pellet at 10-14 m to the island for common carp and f1 & f2 carp.  Maggot for bream, roach, perch, barbel and chub.

Jenny’s Pool
Pellet or worm for f1 & f2 carp, bream, perch, tench and orfe.  The fish have been in the margins, down the track and at 13m to the island.  Pleasure anglers this week have had weights over 100lb this week.

RESULTS FOR OPEN CONTESTS WEEK ENDING 6th FEBRUARY 2011

All pools are now free of ice and have started to feed well, with perch, f1 carp, roach and bream on all pegs.  Maggot or pellet has been the best bait fished at 8-12m.  A bit of slop groundbait has been helpful.

Top Pool
Both of the roadsides pegs have been fishing well with roach, perch and bream on maggot waggler to the island.  The pegs in the bowl have also been producing well.

Bottom Pool
The odd big carp have been caught over the weekend on a feeder to the islands.  Lots of f1 carp, bream, roach and perch to maggot.
 
House Pool
Maggot fished at 10-12m has been good for silverfish and f1 carp.  Straight lead red maggot fort he odd common carp.
 
Extension pool
10m line has been the best on this pool, with carp, roach, bream, perch and the odd barbel on all pegs.  Maggot and pellet have been the best baits.

New Pool
The match weights have improved this week with pellet catching lots of fish.  Mirror and common carp on open ended feeder to the islands and a few chub have been showing on the roadside pegs to red maggot.
 
Canal Pool
Red maggot for f1 & f2 carp, roach, perch, bream, barbel, and tench at 8-12m against the island.

Club Pool
10m down the track for bream and roach.  Pellet for f1 carp at 4m and maggot for barbel, perch and tench.
 
Jenny’s Pool
Maggot produced while the pool was iced up early in the week, but pellet has fished well in the later part of the week and weekend with cap, bream, tench and roach being caught.

RESULTS FOR OPEN CONTESTS WEEK ENDING 30th JANUARY 2011

Weights have been going up and down this week with the fluxuating temperatures.  Bronze maggot has been the best bait this week with the odd catches on pellet and punched bread. Using slop groundbait has helped this week.

Top Pool
F1 carp, bream, roach and rudd on all pegs fishing at 8-10m on the bottom.

Bottom Pool
Just the one double figured carp caught this week to bread.  Lots of f1 carp, bream, roach and the odd chub to bronze maggot.
 
House Pool
Again the fish are at 8m with the odd common carp caught along with f1 carp, bream, roach and some barbel.  Maggot has been the best bait on this lake.
 
Extension pool
The fish are close to the islands with pellet catching lots of carp and bream.  Maggot for other silverfish.

New Pool
Bronze or red maggot have ben the best baits on this pool fished down the track at 9m for carp and silverfish.
 
Canal Pool
Bronze maggot at 6-8m for rudd, carp, f1 & f2 carp, roach, perch, bream, barbel, and tench.

Club Pool
Fish against the island for better carp and down the track for f1 carp and silverfish.

Jenny’s Pool
Maggot fished in deep water hard on the bottom with groundbait for barbel, tench, roach, perch, rudd and s/bream.
