Rich Teigh also opted for shallow tactics from Island 18 and fell an agonising 4oz short.

Lee fished paste on short pole and corn in the margins for carp and skimmers

Another big turnout produced some close weights in the frame.John Moore ran out easy victor with 55lb 12oz from Island peg 5.John fished meat and pellet up and down in the water for mainly carp to 8lb

Dave Fantom came second fishing corn and paste for carp to 10lb

Alan Tait continued his good run with this win from Island 67.Alan attacked the margins with meat and corn over groundbait for mainly carp to 9lb

Dave also broke the ton barrier with 120lb plus.Dave fished short pole with meat and maggots,worms and groundbait in the margins for carp to 7lb
3rd P Wright (Fishing Republic) Peg Island 5 94-8-0
Paul Wright opted for paste on short pole and in the margins for carp to 10lb

The first spawning fish put paid to any chance of a tight match. However the top three anglers still had impressive weights. Leading the field was Paul McIntyre on peg outer 26 and he fished meat shallow plus groundbait and corn in the edge for carp to 11lb

Second was Scott Plant who fished paste and pellet at 6m from outer 10 for carp to 8lb

Third placed Tony Butt caught carp on catmeat at 8m

Second was Eddie Buxton, also on the island, who used similar shallow tactics for carp to 10lb
