Great Barr angler Carl Tamey has been having some coaching from Paul Downes and after making the jump from club match fishing to the open scene, he secured his first win in the latest Cornestone AC event on the Grand Union Canal in the city.

Carl drew peg one where he fished squatt and groundbait for 5-14-0 of silver fish – which was too good for second placed Merv Rogers who weighed in 5-0-14 from peg 33. Starlets’ Keith Ward filled the frame with 4-11-5 from peg 34.
