England have retained the title of World Casting Champions following an outstanding performance at the World Championships held in Belgium.
England led the championship from day one, winning all three weights, 125gm, 150gm and 175gm.

The team members were Mike Birks, Paignton, Devon; Rob Caley, Thetford, Norfolk;

Garry Dickerson, Wimborne, Dorset; David Vicary, Bodham, Norfolk and Jason Willicombe, Minehead, Somerset.  The team was managed by Devon’s Dennis Retter.

Jason Willicombe won the individual silver medal with an overall cast distance of 711.37 metres recorded over the three matches. France won the silver and Italy the bronze, with England B sixth.
Danny Moeskops of Belgium won the individual gold medal with a total distance of 738.60m.
