The Barston Festival this week produced its biggest weights ever, with over 80lb of fish the average per angler, and mostly bream weights too.

Day one was won by event organiser Craig Casemore with 161lb of big carp from peg 17. Craig caught on the method at 70 yards, with fish up to 18lb. Second on the day was end peg 124 right opposite with 154 by Max Higgot.

Day 2 was won by Wayne Mellings with a massive 175lb of mainly bream on the pole, with a few carp early on the feeder, but then swapping to the pole line from peg 109. Great fishing!

Day 3 saw four anglers on three points, so was going to be a close finish. Jamie Hawkins won the match from yet another section, this time the river bank peg 32 won with 13llb. Overall winner was Grant Albutt who had 130lb on day three for a five point total and 365lb weight. The top five all had over 320lb.
