The first qualifier round this year of the Angling Trust & Canal & River Trust Stillwater Championship fished at Earlswood Lakes (Engine Pool) in Warwickshire was held on 11th June. 

Typical early season patchy results with Sections A, B and C producing up to 3 fish with many single fish and many not weighing in. E section produced the top three weights with first place of Karl Conley (Fosters) 102 lb 11 oz, second place Charlie Simpson (Miracle baits) 74 lb 9 oz, and in third place Dave Perry (Willows) 73 lb 00 oz.

Special mention for Alan Chadbone who topped off a great time by qualifying for the final from this qualifier as he is fresh from helping the  England Anglers with Disabilities Team on the River Labe, Czech Republic to a bronze team medal and his fellow squad member Roy Wells who came away with an individual bronze medal.
