The first qualifier round this year of the Angling Trust & Canal & River Trust Stillwater Championship fished at Earlswood Lakes (Engine Pool) in Warwickshire was held on 11th June.

Typical early season patchy results with Sections A, B and C producing up to 3 fish with many single fish and many not weighing in. E section produced the top three weights with first place of Karl Conley (Fosters) 102 lb 11 oz, second place Charlie Simpson (Miracle baits) 74 lb 9 oz, and in third place Dave Perry (Willows) 73 lb 00 oz.

Special mention for Alan Chadbone who topped off a great time by qualifying for the final from this qualifier as he is fresh from helping the  England Anglers with Disabilities Team on the River Labe, Czech Republic to a bronze team medal and his fellow squad member Roy Wells who came away with an individual bronze medal.

Congratulations to the following 10 who qualified for the grand final on August 7th at Boddington Reservoir as below;

Maurice Williams
Dave Usher

Alan Chadbone

Jamie Hughes

The next round is at Blythe Waters on Sunday 19th June.
