Chris Wheaton set a new world best mark for the star-studded grouper (Hyporthodus niphobles) with this 31-pounder caught out of Loreto, Mexico.

Chris was fishing mackerel bait on the bottom when the fish, which looks set to take the IGFA All Tackle World Record for the species, hit and put up a touch seven minute battle. The current world record stands at 29lb.
