REPORT

MOLANDS   Molands showed how good it can be after not fishing well in the previous couple of weeks to how sport improved to give some terrific catches to match and pleasure anglers alike.  Carp, F1’s, tench and skimmers all feeding well with a variety of tactics catching but pole shallow with pellets and meat, worm and caster or paste fished down the near margin are the most productive methods.  Over the weekend, good nets were taken all around the pool with 2, 8, 17 – 19, 27, 33, 42 – 48, 52 and 58 – 60 notable areas.

GEARYS   Nets to over 100lb taken in matches and pleasure anglers reporting catches to nearly 200lb this week.  The carp are showing all around the pool and fish to 19lb 6oz have been weighed in during matches, the big skimmers are also showing in numbers as well.  The top tactic has been to ping 8mm pellets and fish the bomb or pellet waggler over the top.  Paste, dead maggot and meat fished down the margin is also working really well, particularly in the afternoon/evening when the fish move tight in.  Top pegs are 1, 6, 9 – 13, 17, 19, 21 – 24, 27 and 36.

LITTLE GEARYS    The feeder is starting to dominate in matches with a pellet feeder or a small method fished tight up to the island fishing with dead maggot, hard pellet or polony on the hook and nets to 80lb have been caught on this.  Long pole and pellet fished shallow is also still a good tactic.  Top pegs 3, 5, 7 – 13, 19, 21 and 27 – 29.

GRATUITIES    Good sport is to be had on a variety of tactics this week with pole and pellet/caster/maggot accounting for good mixed nets of carp, tench, crucians, skimmers and the odd barbel.  Pellet feeder or method feeder fished as tight as you can get to the island is working well for the bigger sized carp using meat or banded hard pellet on the hook.  Pegs 1 – 4 and 11 – 15 have been fishing really well.

ANNIVERSARIES   Fished really well this week with lots of tench, F1’s, small carp and skimmers coming to float fished pellet, caster, corn or meat.  The early and late pegs from 1 – 9 and 17 – 23 have been in the best form.
WILLOW   This pool has been very popular with most anglers, enjoying good catches of F1’s, carp and skimmers.  A small pellet feeder fished to the island with banded hard pellet or meat on the hook has been the best tactic.  There are some good sized carp also coming to floating baits with dog biscuit or large expanders taking fish to 15lb.
