REPORT

MOLANDS The fishing has been the best so far this year with catches in matches up to 130lb and 40 – 60lb needed to win sections. The bigger carp are showing well with fish to 16lb coming to the straight lead and pellet or waggler and pellet fished tight up to the island. F1’s to 4lb also featuring in catches and pellet or paste fished down the edge is the top tactic for these. Pleasure anglers fishing evening sessions are seeing the best of the tench with fish to 6½lb reported and meat is the top bait for them at the moment. Best pegs are 2 – 8, 12, 17, 27, 29, 43 – 46 and 55 – 60.

GEARYS This pool is starting to pick up with catches to 70lb in matches and carp being caught all around the pool. The skimmers are spawning at the moment and not showing so well. The best tactics have been straight lead with 8mm pellet or paste fished down the margin or up to any reedbeds/overhanging bushes. Carp to over 18lb were weighed in during matches last week. Best pegs are 1, 6, 9, 13, 19, 21 – 23, 29 and 31.

LITTLE GEARYS Lots of different tactics are working on Little Gearys with method/pellet feeder to the island. Paste down the near margin or long pole and pellet fished shallow all accounting for decent nets. Weights to 93lb were caught with 40 – 50lb needed to frame on the matches. Best pegs were 3, 7 – 11, 21 and 24 – 29.

GRATUITIES Pleasure anglers are enjoying the best of the action with evening sessions best with carp and tench showing well. Pole fished meat or corn is the best tactic with a small method feeder up to the island also worth a try. Best pegs are 1, 6,
8 – 11 and 15.

ANNIVERSARIES Fishing well with small carp, tench and skimmers showing best with 4mm expander pellet or paste fished over micros the top tactic. Best areas are top the end on pegs 1 – 9 and the lawn area with 15 – 17 all fishing well.

WILLOW In great form with mixed nets of carp and tench, skimmers and F1’s being caught. Pole down the margins is the top tactic with corn, paste, pellet and meat all accounting for plenty of fish. Best pegs are 1 – 3, 4, 7 and 10.

SIBLINGS There have been plenty of tench being caught although not been fished heavily this week. Bags of up to 15 tench and including the odd double figure carp have been reported with meat or corn fished close in working best.
