REPORT

MOLANDS Fished very well in the middle of the week with the high winds seeming to bring the fish onto the feed but sport dropped at the weekend when it became very patchy again. Nets to over 120lb have been caught with F1s to 7lb and carp to 5lb featuring in match catches. Pleasure anglers have reported carp to over 20lb with floating baits tempting the bigger fish. Worm and caster have been the best baits in matches with lots of fish showing on the short line at five metres.

GEARYS It has been quality rather than quantity on Gearys over the past week with carp to nearly 20lb being caught in matches. Pole fished corn, pellet feeder with dead maggot and method feeder have all accounted for a few carp with pegs 9 – 13, 16 – 19, 29 – 33 and 36 producing the most fish. There have been some good mixed nets of skimmers, crucians, tench and small carp being caught on the pole with pellet or chopped worm and caster accounting for the better nets.

LITTLE GEARYS Match weights to around 100lb have been best this week. Pole and pellet fished short at 5 – 8 metres has been the best approach but fish are also coming to pellet/method feeder and corn/pellet/paste fished in the margins. Best pegs have been around the top end from 1 – 10.

GRATUITIES Still very patchy but the carp anglers fishing on the top have enjoyed good sport with fish to 15lb coming to dog biscuit or bread. Mixed nets of skimmers, crucians, tench and carp are being caught on soft pellet or caster fished at around 13 metres.

WILLOW Probably the most consistent pool this week with lots of carp and F1s being caught from all around the pool. Short pole with paste, pellet and meat or pellet feeder to the island have been catching good nets of carp averaging around the 4lb mark and F1s to 5lb.

SIBLINGS A Steady rather than spectacular with nets of F1s, ide, carp and skimmers to around 50lb with long pole and pellet/meat or short pole with caster/maggot fished shallow the top tactics at the moment.

SIBLINGS B Lots of F1s are being caught with long pole on most pegs fishing tight up to the far bank with pellet or corn on the hook feeding 4mm pellets. The wider pegs have seen good nets coming to a small pellet feeder with meat or dead reds on the hook and this has accounted for the better sized carp too.

CRESCENT/REEDY BAY/ALDER/1ST BAY These small pools have all been fishing very well over the last week with lots of carp, F!s, roach and skimmers being caught. Simple float fishing with maggot, corn pellet has been working best.
