REPORT

MOLANDS   A few cooler nights have made the water temperatures drop a little and sport has become a little patchy.  The carp have provided the better catches with nets to 70lb+ in matches and a few bigger catches caught by pleasure anglers.  The fish have moved across to the island and pellet feeder or method feeder with expander pellet, banded hard pellet or small pieces of meat on the hook have accounted for the better catches.  Paste or pellet fished down the near margin is working best late afternoons and evening.  Best pegs are 4, 8 – 12, 17 – 20, 25 – 29, 37, 41 – 48 and 52.

GEARYS   A good week for bigger carp with lots of double figure fish coming out with fish to 19lb weighed in during matches.  Bomb and pellet is still working well but increasing numbers of fish are being caught down the margins with dead red maggot, meat, corn and paste all producing well with big skimmers as well as the carp coming to this.  Top pegs are 6, 9 – 15, 17, 19 – 23 and 36.

LITTLE GEARYS   A little more difficult than of late although still very fair with matches being won from various pegs around the pool.  Top methods have been pellet/feeder fished tight to the island with polony, punched bread or dead red maggots on the hook and fished shallow either with pellet waggler across or long pole and pellet.  Best pegs are 3, 5, 7- 13, 17, 19, 25 – 27.

GRATUITIES   Carp in the 2 – 4lb bracket have provided the main part of catches but tench to 5lb, skimmers, crucians and the odd barbel have been caught this week.  The best approach is to fish to the middle island with pellet feeder, waggler or pellet waggler all working.  Top pegs are 6 – 9, 11, 15 and 16.

SIBLINGS   The green algae blooms that have occurred on Siblings in the past couple of weeks have dispersed and sport has improved over the past few days.  There have been plenty of skimmers, crucians, tench and decent sized roach being caught on corn, meat or paste.  Late evening sessions are providing the better carp with fish patrolling around the margins and fish to 15lb+ have been caught.  The middle points on either side of the lake have been the best areas.

ANNIVERSARIES    Like Siblings, the algae blooms have recently made the fishing a little more difficult but the situation has improved and anglers enjoyed decent sport over the weekend with plenty of skimmers and crucians being caught on pole/pellet or caster.  The bigger carp are showing on the early pegs around the far bank features and floating baits have accounted for a few fish into double figures.
WILLOW    Willow has been in good form with carp to 15lb, F1’s to 1½lb, plenty of fish in the 2 – 4lb region and skimmers showing.  Feeder to the island is the best tactic with meat or pellet on the hook and long pole on some pegs where you can reach the island is also providing decent catches.
