REPORT

MOLANDS Definitely starting to go into winter mode with the water going a little clearer and making lighter tactics a must. Despite this there were some decent bags caught to over 100lb with pole and maggot or maggot feeder the top tactics at the moment. Pellet feeder and waggler to the island is also catching a few fish as well. Best pegs have been 8, 21 – 26, 31, 33 – 37, 44 – 46 and 52 – 60.

GEARYS The carp have slowed down but the silver fishing has been quite good especially along the high bank in the deeper water. Nets of skimmers, crucians, the odd tench and carp are coming to pole fished pellet or maggot fished over micros or ground bait and a small cage feeder with maggot on the hook also working. The carp are still responding to pellet fished at 30 metres and then fishing the bomb or waggler and the top catches have been around 40 – 50lb at best.

LITTLE GEARYS Very patchy at the moment with it going well one day and difficult the next. Weights to around 70lb are best and on the good days, decent nets are being caught from most areas of the pool. Caster or maggot down the margins, particularly later in the day, have been the most productive approach but pellet feeder to the island is also finding a few. Top pegs have been 1, 7 – 10, 15, 19, 23 and 27 – 29.

GRATUITIES The corner pegs have been in best form this week with 1, 8, 9, 15 and 16 all catching from the edges with carp to 8lb coming to worm or caster fished close to the bank. On the other pegs, a small waggler or feeder fished tight to the island is the best approach.

WILLOW Pellet feeder or a small method feeder fished tight to the island is catching F1’s and carp. Shallow tactics on the pole is also accounting for decent nets of F1’s with pellet or caster.

SIBLINGS A Nets to 60lb have featured this week with F1’s, carp, ide and skimmers coming to pole fished maggot or pellet. The pegs from 5 – 19 have been in the best form.

SIBLINGS B The end of the pool on pegs 7 – 10 has been the best area with lots of F1’s in the 8oz – 1½lb bracket and carp around the 3lb – 4lb mark have been caught. Long pole to the far bank is the best tactic with pellet or maggot on the hook.
