A potential Welsh record smoothound has been caught.

The fish weighing 17lb 3oz  was caught from the rough ground at Llantwit Major, South Wales by Adam Morgan from Pontypridd on the 17th August.

He used a rotten bottom pulley rig with peeler crab as bait fished at approx 100yds, the fish gave a good scrap before being beached and after the weighing and photo’s it was released back into the sea to give another angler the chance of making welsh history.
