Alex Newman may have equalled or just beaten the IGFA All-Tackle world record for black grouper (Mycteroperca bonaci) with this massive 56.24 kg (124 lb 2 oz) specimen he pulled from waters off Ft. Myers, Florida, USA during a local fishing tournament.

The massive grouper snaffled a large live bait, and put up a brutal fight before it could be subdued. The current IGFA world record is 56.28 kg (124 lb).
