The Birmingham Fazeley Canal will host the final of the 2015 Canal Pairs Championships to be run jointly by the Canal & River Trust and the Angling Trust.

Eleven qualifiers will be fished on canal venues around the country with the top five pairs from each (110 finalists) due to battle it out on the Dams and lock stretch of the Fazeley on October 24th.

Tickets priced at £20 per angler will go on sale in early February through the Angling Trust. A 50-peg junior canal championship match will also be held alongside the final on the 24th October.

The Canal & River Trust’s national fisheries and angling manager,

John Ellis, said: “It’s been a long-held ambition to see a major national event of this type launched on the canal network. I feel sure that many club anglers will fancy their chances on qualifying for the final on their own local patch and then who knows what might happen.”
