MOLANDS . The Fish are still following the wind with large shoals of carp sitting where the wind is pushing towards and for much of the week this has been around pegs 19- 31 and 35-44. Shallow or surface tactics are still catching best during the day with pleasure anglers having fish to 24lbs on dog biscuit or a zig rig fished high in the water. In the Matches bomb or waggler fished across to the island and late in the day corn over micros have accounted for catches to around 60lb.
GEARYS The changeable weather saw sort drop off a little this week but match weights to 150lbs were recorded. The carp are stting out a fair way during the day and bomb with PVA bag and bait up feeders has been the way to go. Later in the day the fish are coming in closer and short pole with pellet or down the margins with dead reds or worm over groundbait is accounting for some lumps. . Carp anglers have had some big catches and fish to 24lb fishing over a bait up feeder, pod or PVA bag with boilies or double 8mm pellet.
LITTLE GEARYS A much more inconsistent week with nets to around 160lb best with the f1s switching off a little and bigger carp to 18lb making up the best of the catches. The carp have come to a method or bomb and pellet fished across or just short of the island and down the margins on worm or corn fished over micros. The f1s albeit in lesser numbers are coming to shallow pole with caster or pellet and meat fished short.
SIBLINGS A . A little tougher this week with catches to around the 50lb mark and some nice carp up to 16lb featured in nets. Meat, banded hard 4mm or expander pellet fished tight up to the island or down the margins has worked best during the day and in the evenings corn or worm over micros is accounting for some quality carp as well,
SIBLINGS B Fished quite hard this week with match nets to around 40lb best. Meat, worm or corn fished down the edges or the far bank has picked up better sized carp and f1s later in the day. The most consistent pegs have been 5- 13 with the fish sitting in the far bank reeds, so you need to get tight up for best results.
ANNIES Its been a little better on Annies this week with nets to around 70lb being caught in matches with carp to 15lb and f1s to 6lb showing .Corn or worm fished over micro pellet tight up to the island was the best approach but short pole with meat or pellet and bomb/waggler with 6mm pellet was also worth a go. The best pegs have been 2,6,10 17 and 21.
WILLOW , Willow has been fishing well this week with plenty of carp and f1s from 2-4lb showing on most pegs and match weights to over 70lb were recorded . Fishing tight to the island with wagglers or feeders and down the margins with worm or corn over micro pellets is the way to go at the moment.
GRATUITIES Plenty of carp in the 2-4lb range and the odd lump into double figures being caught on the pole or waggler fished down the middle of the pool with corn, banded pellet or expander on the hook, a small method feeder to the island with pellet or wafter has also been working well. Fish maggot or caster for some nice silver catches including quality roach, chub and skimmers.
