Pole alleys are great for the likes of me, a customer as it allows you to set different poles up at different lengths and compare. The pole is one of the most expensive purchases and a purchase that is a nightmare if you get it wrong.
If you buy a rod are you happy to pick it up in its sleeve and make a decision from there. If you buy a reel do you refrain from turning the handle first, if you buy a seat box do avoid sitting sit on it first?
As long as my new pole is the model i want, at the right price, inspected visually by myself and found to be defect free, covered with the correct warranty and with at least the manufacturers listed spares etc i wouldnt care if it was ex display.
