i also love bream and skimmers but tend to catch them mainly at commies now does anyone realy know why they they all seem to think they are trout and go airbourne

The problem is geeps everyone votes for thier favourite species mine is big roach I don’t think anything comes close, however I’m not blinkered as you fish for what you can get locally, however when most anglers are asked would they prefer to fish a silver lake in a match or a carp lake, they might say silver but when it comes to summer they opt for carp everytime, lots of fisheries have had silver only lakes and can’t get bookings on them so they change them to carp lakes, or mixed lakes with carp and silvers, it’s a question of getting bums on seats or pegs to be precise.

have to agree with fred couple of fisheries near us tried silverfish pools everybody said it was a good idea but sugest club match there and everyone says no we will have better weights on the carp pool so said silver pools get carp and therefore anglers

Geeps the other reason is the lack of standard in angling these days an average or below par club angler can sit on the right peg on a carp pool and have a very good day if he’s lucky he might even win the match, put him on silvers and he even less likely to produce, time these days is very important, anglers go to the expense of paying day tickets pools brekky etc they expect to see a very good return on there investment and that means if they can’t win they feel at least by putting 30lb on the scales (even if the match is won with 200lb plus) that they have had a reasonable day, put them in a silvers match which is won with 30lb and they catch 2lb it’s a craphole! pardon the pun
