THERE are still a few places for the new winter league aimed at the club anglers in the Midlands, which takes place at Woodland View Fishery, Droitwich between November and mid March.

This is a new innovation in which anyone who the fishery owners view as an open match angler is banned, and indeed I understand Mike Mason has rejected several anglers already.

It’s a teams of four event over 10 matches with all ten to count, but the team can chop and change anglers as they go along providing they don’t bring in anyone ineligible.

The first four to fish for each team will be given branded clothing carrying the name of the sponsors – Woodland View, Preston Innovations and Midland Angler – and the winning team at the end of the series will pick up a £250 Preston Drifish suit apiece plus £500 in cash. In fact the total payout at the final round is something like £6,000 in prizes.

It’s £12 per round, per man to enter and matches will be fished on Arles, Deans and High Pools with bloodworm and joker banned. Mike has half a dozen places left, so if you are interested give him a call quick on 01905 621521.
