The Angling Trust is looking for talented anglers to compete in trials and assessments to help select squads for the 2013 FIPSed World Angling Championships for the Veterans, Disabled and Ladies’ teams.

The England selectors will be looking for anglers who can demonstrate their ability to fish at international level.Hayfield Lakes in South Yorkshire will be the first setting for the Veterans and Disabled trail and assessment on Saturday 23rd March 2013, followed by the Ladies’ the following day on Sunday 24th March.

The trials will be fished to FIPSed rules, and bloodworm and joker will have to be used during each 4 hour assessment which will be float fishing only. Only natural baits are allowed so pellets, meat or boilies etc are banned, not only as a hook bait but also as part of the ground bait limit.
The bloodworm and joker will be limited to 3/4 litre per person and will be supplied by the Manager, but must be paid for by the angler.

Interested applicants are advised that the venues for the 2013 World Championships are: Veterans and Disabled, Bosnia and Herzegovina from 4th to 12th August and the Ladies’ in Slovenia from 18th to 26th August.
