Things have been much more difficult at Packington Somers trout fishery this week, but there was a major highlight in the shape of a double figure rainbow trout.

That 10lb 13oz fish fell to Warwick angler John Salisbury, who fished a black and green lure on a floating line at Cocks Close. John also caught the biggest trout last week. Dennis Tidmarsh and Phil Nott of Birmingham shared a boat on the Hall Pool and caught 17 fish to 6lb between them, all on Cats Whiskers fished on intermediate lines. On the Great Pool, Ray Cramp of Coventry and Malcolm Randle of Bedworth shared a boat and caught 19 fish to 4lb 8oz on a combination of Diawl Bachs and black Lures.
The best areas on Cocks Close have been the old boat jetty corner and the high bank, but fish are moving on all areas. The Great Pool has coloured a little and is a lot harder than previous weeks, but the dam wall area is best. On the Hall Pool, the Cattle Drink and dam end is fishing well.
