The CLA Game Fair has appointed Chris Ogborne as Head of Fishing for next year’s three-day event, to be held at Blenheim Palace, Oxfordshire on 18-20 July.

Cornwall-based Chris has a long history in the UK tackle trade as an author and journalist, as well as a proven track record in event management. He has represented England at the highest level of international game fishing and is uniquely placed to make a major contribution to all fishing activities at the CLA Game Fair.

Chris will take on overall responsibility for all fishing attractions, including demonstrations and entertainment. He said: “The trade feels that there is a need for a fresh approach to many aspects of the Fishing Village. We have plans to bring in more manufacturers and retailers, to refresh the demonstration programme and to introduce many more hands-on activities that will attract youngsters and newcomers to the sport. The CLA Game Fair is the number one event in the country calendar and I am looking forward to working with exhibitors, sponsors and trade bodies to maximise and promote its unique atmosphere.”

CLA Game Fair Director, Andrew Crawford added: “We have worked with Chris for some time and are confident that his input will be well received. The Fishing Village will have a dynamic new appearance next year which we feel sure will widen its appeal to both regular visitors and newcomers.”
