The Seventeenth round of RiverFest qualification saw the 50 of the country’s finest river anglers pit their wits against a rather low and clear river River Soar.

It was Sensas backed Darran Bickerton that took the match from peg 7 in A zone. Darran rotated a 5m line for perch on worm, and a longer line at 11 meters for roach on pinkie over groundbait and amassed 15lb 11oz.

The Second qualifier on the day was Nigel Bull from B zone peg 47. Nigel edged out the competition with 10lb 3oz of quality perch and few roach on the pole.

The final qualifier was Browning backed Nick Crooks, who drew end peg 11 in C zone. Nick has caught 8lb on perch and eels on worm and then also topped up on small roach over groundbait for 14lb 2oz, which took the section by a single ounce!
