A change to the dates for the senior World Angling Championships means that members of the Drennan England team will be able to fish the Evesham Festival for the first time in over a decade.

The World Champs traditionally takes place on the first weekend of September and although the Evesham Festival covers the Bank Holiday weekend before that, England’s top anglers are already on the venue and practising by then.
However, in 2012 the men’s world championships is being moved to the middle of September and England team manager Mark Downes has already committed to attend the prestigious three-day Evesham event.
“The World Championship doesn’t start until around September 15 next year, so the team isn’t going to go out to the Czech Republic until the beginning of September,” England team manager Mark Downes told Match Fishing magazine. “It’s great news that means we can get to actually go to Evesham this year. I’m really looking forward to the event and am planning on being there all three days.”
