This summer’s Fish’O’Mania has been postponed due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. The Fish‘O’Mania Final will now take place on Saturday, August 29th, starting at 11:30am at Maver-Dynamite Hayfield Lakes, Doncaster.

This allows the postponed Fish‘O’Mania qualifiers to be re-arranged, ensuring a full schedule of 18 UK qualifying matches can take place. In addition to the five qualifying matches already postponed, all qualifiers scheduled to take place in May have now also been postponed. The new Fish‘O’Mania qualifying schedule can be seen at the bottom of this press release, along with information on how to transfer or refund your qualifier entry ticket.

Matchroom Multi Sport and the Angling Trust will continue to carefully monitor the ongoing situation and follow Government advice. Free spectator tickets for Fish‘O’Mania will be available to download from the Fish’O’Mania webpage later this month.

Jamie Cook Chief Executive Officer of the Angling Trust commented: “The angling community has come together through this period and I thank competition anglers for their support. In order to ensure that the sport’s Blue Riband event can take place, we will continue to work with Government to ensure that safety advice is followed and that when we are able to fish again, there is a vibrant competition programme available to all.”

Emily Frazer, COO of Matchroom Multi Sport, added: “In conjunction with the Angling Trust, we have taken the decision to postpone this year’s Fish‘O’Mania until August 29th. We believe this will give us the best possible chance of staging all 18 UK qualifying events, allowing anglers across the country a chance of qualifying for this year’s Fish‘O’Mania.

“We will continue to work closely with the Angling Trust and our partner venues and thank them all for their assistance in helping us to swiftly reschedule our qualifying matches.”

The thoughts of everybody at Matchroom Multi Sport and the Angling Trust are with everybody around the world who is affected by COVID-19.
