TF_CutnutUsing any of the hollow elastics take the no.1 out. The big bore kits when cut back to match the length of the match kits takes a no.7 maver (4.8mm) from memory and the match kits I think take the no.5 maver when the no.1 section is out. I seem to recollect that the CTK5 or 10 when cut back to match the match kit takes a no.7 (edited) maver too.
If you are going to use solid latex in the match kits then the maver internals will be too big in the bore and a large stonfo will look and work altogether wrong. You might be better off in that case getting some made or possible look at the Drennan internals. You could use one to sleeve inside the maver. To be pretty though get some made to measure, then you can match the bushes bore to the elastic and not have to use a big stonfo or similar.
Will give you a definitive answer later as after the weekend I’ve two kits to do one ctk5 and the other a big bore, one broke under a seatbox, the other when a float snapped back and broke through the big bore. 😡

TF_mannymaggotHi does anybody else know what size internal bush fits the power kits on the 2011 Airity, to keep them the same length as the match kits, with the number 1 taken out.
Cheers

TF_Cutnutmatch kit with no.1 out is a Maver no.5
Big Bore cut to Matchkit is Maver no.7
CTK 5/10 cut to Matchkit is Maver no.7Just done these tonight.
As said before the mavers are a large bore so don’t really suit light solid elastics.

TF_CutnutCTK5 & 10 are carp kits that you can buy outside of the airity package from Daiwa and are a generic fit to most of their recent better end poles.
There can be a slight variance in tolerance with the internal bores, and if you find you have cut back a tad too much, then you can use plumbers ptfe tape to wrap around the bush. This is far more forgiving than electrical tape and less permanent than glue. You might find that the no.7 needs a gentle coaxing on some, just take your time with any of it and measure twice cut once. I find using the edge of a needle file better than a hacksaw…the clue is in the word hack 😉
The other makes of internals will fit but be aware that they have not standardised on the sizes stated.
On Prestons the internal bore of the bush is stated on the packet.
On the Mavers the outside diameter of the bush is whats stated.
The Drennans I think state the outside diameter of the bush too. (I like the look of these as they have a longer body to go internally but alas they did not offer the sizes to easily match the diawa and so it would’ve been a tape up to stop them falling out.The Mavers are perfectly fine all said and done. 🙂
Best either take a top kit to the shop or use a pair of calipers to measure.
